FAQs About the Beach Retreats

What is included in my stay at the Beach Retreats? Our self-catering apartments are fully equipped to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Here's what you can expect:

• Bed linens and towels: We provide fresh linens and bathroom towels for your stay (please bring beach/pool towels).
• Kitchen utensils and appliances: The kitchen is stocked with the essential utensils for cooking and dining, including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and basic appliances. Seasoning, oils, spices, and cleaning products are not included.
• Outdoor space: Relax and unwind on your private patio or balcony, furnished with seating, a table, and a washing line.
• WiFi: Stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout your stay.
• Parking: We offer secure parking on-site for guests (one space per Flat or Apartment is guaranteed; additional space may be available).

Check-in is from 4:00pm on the day of your arrival. Check-out is by 9:00am on the day of your departure.

To give you total peace of mind and flexibility, we've made checking in contactless.

Beach Retreats will be ready from 4:00pm on your day of arrival and your key can be collected from the secure lockbox next to your front door. You will receive the lockbox code on your day of arrival. 

On the day of your departure, we ask you to vacate your Beach Retreat by 9:00am to allow for our thorough cleaning procedures to take place between guests. Simply return your key to the lockbox location and our Housekeeping Team will do the rest!

Yes, free WiFi is included.

We have a number of unallocated parking spaces at the Beach Retreats and your booking includes parking for one car (additional parking may be available, but cannot be guaranteed). We may require any additional vehicles to park in our overflow car park during busy times. We regret we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to vehicles or their contents whilst parked.

Yes, families love our cool coastal accommodation! Children of all ages are welcome at the Beach Retreats. Our self-catering Flats and Apartments offer open-plan living areas, family-friendly bedrooms, and fun facilities. We can provide cots and high chairs if required (please request in advance of your stay).

Yes, we welcome dogs at some of the Beach Retreats (Ground Floor Flats and Ground Floor Apartments). These are perfect for pups because they feature enclosed patios. However, please note that there are some restrictions. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds, and they must be kept on a lead at all times within the communal areas. Please remember to clean up after your pup!

No, smoking is prohibited in the Beach Retreats.

Some of the first-floor Beach Retreats offer far-reaching views down towards the sea over the village of Woolacombe. Perfect for sunsets. Please call us on 01271 870388 before booking if you have specific accommodation requirements. 

Bathroom towels are provided, as is bed linen, but please pack beach towels. Your kitchen has crockery, cutlery, and pans, but please pack washing up liquid, and condiments such as cooking oil, seasoning, and spices etc.

A hair dryer can be found in the bedroom drawer, but please pack all your shower and wash gear.

Cots and high chairs can be provided - please email us at beachretreats@woolacombe-bay-hotel.co.uk at least 48 hours before arrival to request these.

Yes, all Flats and Apartments have a washing machine, and a clothes horse.

No, Flats and Apartments do not have a dishwasher.

The Mini Lido outdoor swimming pool is open from 8:00am - 8:00pm, from June - September. The pool does not have a lifeguard.

The Woolacombe Beach Retreats are privately-owned by the team behind the award-winning Woolacombe Bay Hotel.

Guests staying in the Beach Retreats can enjoy 20% off spa treatments at The Alchemist Spa, and can book classes at SALT Gymnasia for the special discounted price of £6.00. Unique discount codes will be issued when you book a stay at the Beach Retreats.

The main difference is that Flats have a single bathroom which has a shower over a bath. Apartments, on the other hand, have a bathroom with a bath, and a separate shower room, offering a bit more flexibility and convenience for group bookings.

The Apartments are overlooking the Mini Lido swimming pool. Some offer sea views.

Yes, a non-refundable deposit of up to 25% is required to book your Beach Retreat accommodation, with full payment taken 7 weeks before arrival. Should you wish to book an arrival date within the next 7 weeks, full payment will be taken at the time of booking.

For short breaks (less than 7 days), full payment is required at time of booking.

Yes, free WiFi is included.

In the event of cancellation for self-catering accommodation, deposits are non-refundable and full payment will be retained if cancelled within 7 weeks of arrival. In the event that you decide, whilst staying with us, to leave before your confirmed date of departure there can be no refund for days not taken.

Yes, during spring, summer, and school holidays, a 7-night minimum stay typically applies. During autumn and winter, a three-night minimum stay applies.

Yes! The Beach Retreats are the perfect place to stay if you are looking for accommodation near Woolacombe Beach! They are just five minutes walk from the three miles of soft sand. The walk back from the beach is uphill, but isn’t too punishing - it’s definitely possible to do in flip flops and wetsuits - surfboard under your arm!

The nearest supermarket is Tesco (Ilfracombe), which is located about 10-15 minutes drive from the Beach Retreats. Many guests opt to have shopping delivered to their Beach Retreat.
